Restless by nature, on a whim I blew off city living and my career, to try my hand at a simpler-slower life in rural Tasmania. It's going to be one heck of a learning curve..join me as I find my feet, fingers crossed!

last week..

..was crazy, almost like the weather! Socialising, day trips & finding ways to feed the hungry feathered crew.

We had a quick wander around Hobart's waterfront Taste festival, noticing many new innovations. I loved the recycling elephant, varieties of funky healthy vegetarian foods & this funky lil coffee stall with a column of ole books!

Back home i seem to be visiting the ever amazing Hen House in Gardners Bay, very often. Betsii & the girls eat their dry stock & now they're selling Laucke Mills dog bikkies @ a great price. Unfortunately the dog is resistant to any dietary changes, even for the better! Lastly, we have finally eaten our way thru all the broadbeans, YAHOO! I decided not to freeze any this year and finished them off by making a frittata teamed with a garlic, flax oil, mint & broadbean puree..super yum. This week we have a Canadian helper landing plus am volunteering at the folk festival, busy again it seems.
