Cygnet herb, health & organic expo 2012

..will be held on Sunday the 25th of November, from 10am-4pm- $3 entry. The Expo will be held in Cygnet’s Town & Carmel halls and feature guest speakers, workshops-stalls, showcasing Tasmania’s organic, herbal, healthy living options, sustainable living businesses & community organisations.

Program of speakers:

10am Chris Simcox from Against Animal Cruelty Tasmania
10:40am Peg Putt with Carbon Farming
11:20am Sally Wise with Cooking with Seasonality
12:10pm Peter Norris, owner of Heritage Honey, speaks on Organic Beekeeping
1:00pm Dr John Todd is the Director of Eco-Energy Options Pty Ltd, with Do it Yourself Conservation Around the Home
2:00pm Letitia Ware, Organic Famer and Educator, speaks on Enriched Organic Growing,
3:00pm David Stephen, Taroona’s local gardening guru, speaks on Adapting to Climate Change in the Garden.


Workshops and Demonstrations will be running throughout the day, including the very popular annual Weed Walk around Cygnet looking at common weeds and their medicinal uses with Greg Whitton and Daniel Robson from Gould’s Naturopathic 1pm – 2:15 pm

Workshops at Carmel Hall:

10 – 2pm Mudbrick & Building – Chloe & Helen – in the Cygnet School garden, 10am – 2pm Stephanie Alexander Cygnet School garden tours, 10:00 – 10:30am – Eurythmy, 10:30am – 12noon Demonstrations of the Emmett and Bowen techniques for neck and shoulder restrictions and pain & Ending Suffering with ‘The Work’ of Byron Katie - Nolan Alderfox, 12:00 – 12:45pm – Bikram Yoga with Ben Boyle, 12:45 – 1:30pm Tai Chi with Sylvia Merope, 1:30 – 2:15pm Qigong with Amanda Steel, 2:15 -  2:45pm Gothic Bellydancing with Vamp with Genevieve, 3:15pm - 3:45pm Zoe Magnus from Channel Living - Community Supported Agriculture

Also on the day in conjunction with the expo - Sustainable/environmental themed workshops will be held at Balfour house 22 Mary St Cygnet. Workshops will include Printmaking, Book binding, Paper making, String making. It’s a great way to soak up the good vibes of this small local community & I expect there’ll be plenty of amazing food, children’s activities and live music dotted around the town. See  you there!!
