walking your dog..

..with the Huon Valley Dog Walkers- New members welcome. There’s a couple of challenging beauties coming up, hope the weather holds out!

Saturday April 28th A new guided walk at Mountain River. Drive north from Huonville and turn left at the Grove Store into Mountain River Road. Not far along on your left you will see the Mountain River Village Hall. We will meet there @ 10.00am. Bring drinks, and if cold throw in your thermos.image from:

Saturday May 12th – Another new walk, this time at Cradoc Hill. Drive south from Huonville and turn left at the Cradoc Hill sign and keep going until you reach Cradoc Hill Abattoir. Alternatively drive along Slab Road, Cygnet and keep going until you reach the same place. The sign on the gate to the abattoir says private but we can drive through and park at the side, meet 10 am, being careful not to block the road to the abattoir. Straight ahead of us is Bells Road which leads into the State Forest. If you’re feeling energetic you can walk to Margate but most of us will stop at the Grey Mountain Reservoir. Once we are in the forest the dogs can go off lead but we’ll need to listen for 4WD vehicles, which come through occasionally. Again, you might like to bring a flask of something hot.

Hope to see your there!!
