Restless by nature, on a whim I blew off city living and my career, to try my hand at a simpler-slower life in rural Tasmania. It's going to be one heck of a learning curve..join me as I find my feet, fingers crossed!

My first Rhododendron..

Why oh why, has it taken me this long to realise possums & wallabies don’t like eating Rhododendrons.

Over the past two and half years we’ve planted so many lovely native shrubs. Only to find we were lovingly providing dinner for the wallabies, with our new plants. But now, I’ve found the answer…Rhododendrons. Yep, I’m planning to plants lots of them, for a splash of colour, in front of the house. What a thrill, to plant without cages. I can’t help smiling when I see the splash of red colour in amongst all the bush green.

My next challenge: How to propagate Rhododendrons?
